Potato with mushrooms under cheese


  1. mushrooms 500 gr
  2. potato 1 kg
  3. cheddar cheese 200 gr
  4. flour 2 tbsp
  5. milk 3 cups
  6. garlic 3 cloves
  7. onion 1 pc.
  8. salt 1 tsp
  9. dried thyme 1 tsp
  10. pepper to taste

In a pan, heat 2 tbsp. flour until an orange tint appears. By adding milk in small quantities and constantly stirring intensively to mix the flour with milk, so that there are no lumps left. Add thyme, salt, pepper. Mix. Squeeze the garlic. Salt, pepper. Add chopped onion. Stir and heat over low heat for about 5 minutes.
Grease the bottom of the baking dish with butter. Cut the potato with a knife or shredder into thin plates. Put the bottom of the baking dish with half the potatoes. Cut mushrooms into thin plates, put on top of potatoes. Sprinkle half the sauce and spread on the surface of the mushrooms. Put the second half of the potatoes on top and grease the remaining half of the sauce on top.
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees and bake for about 45 minutes. Remove from the oven. Grate cheese on a coarse grater, sprinkle on top of potatoes. Bake in the oven for another 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Allow to cool slightly.
